Technical Support Manager (in Glasgow or Leuven)

As we continue to grow and expand our operations, we seek a dynamic Technical Support Manager to join our customer relationship team in Glasgow in the UK or in Leuven in Belgium. The incumbent will be critical in providing technical support across our international footprint. Job Purpose

Provide technical support by delivering critical information that ensures mission success and clarity in product integration, enabling customers to implement our product effectively and optimize optical performance in orbit.

Key Performance Areas and Responsibilities

  • Financial
    • Streamline the customer support process to reduce support hours and enhance product profitability and mission success.
  • Customer
    • Engage in kick-off meetings to ensure customers have a thorough understanding of the product and know how to access the relevant design documentation.
    • Build relationships with customer technical teams for productive long-term support.
    • Attend conferences to meet and engage with the customers and learn the industry needs and competitive landscape.
    • Verify the customer’s understanding of the information in product data packs.
    • Support customers with design advice and information to achieve optimal product performance.
  • Internal
    • Participate in product development strategy sessions to provide insights into customer requirements.
    • Participate in product development with insights into making systems more effortless to implement into satellites.
    • Provide inputs to updates required to the product documentation to make the details clearer to customers.
    • Lead the technical change request process and collaborate with the systems engineers, contract manager, and production manager when product customizations are required.
    • Manage the future technical support team of engineers.
  • Innovation and learning
    • Understand the current product offering and work with the development engineers to understand the queries in detail before supporting the customers.
    • Understand the new product development for future mission discussions with customers and insight into new products as marketing activities commence.
    • Attend conferences, webinars, and talks to explore new innovations that can enhance our product offering.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Honours Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Aerospace or Electronic Engineering

Required Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of Aerospace Systems Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of engineering experience
  • Experience in the design, development and production of satellite systems
  • Experience with Earth Observation satellite missions

Recommendation

  • Experience with the design of Earth Observation Optical Payloads

Special requirement

  • Willingness to travel internationally
  • Fluent in English
  • Proficient in French and/or Dutch will be advantageous.
  • EU or UK citizenship
